Super Mario RPG was originally a lot more like Final Fantasy

Super Mario RPG is a Super Nintendo classic, but it used to be a pretty different game.

YouTube channel Did You Know Gaming has tackled the 1996 release for it latest round of insightful trivia. Nintendo wanted its famous plumber to use his more traditional moves. The game also didn’t always have its isometric, 3D model look. Originally, it’s top-down, sprite-based graphics were much more like something you’d see from a Final Fantasy game at the time.
