Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick team up for spiritual successor to Maniac Mansion

The guys who practically invented pointing and clicking in adventure games are back.

LucasArts veterans Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick announced a new game today called Thimbleweed Park. It is a point-and-click adventure made in the style of Maniac Mansion or Monkey Island complete with blocky visuals and a huge menu of interactive options. Gilbert and Winnick have taken Thimbleweed Park to Kickstarter, and they’re asking fans to contribute $375,000 to help with development.
