Deadpool

Deadpool joins the remastered train. Let’s be nicer to it this time

Another game from the last generation is getting remastered for the current consoles, but it’s not one you would expect.

Activision announced today that Deadpool is getting a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One remastered version that will come with all of the action game’s DLC. It comes out on Nov. 17 for $50.

The original release of Deadpool was in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. On a personal note, I gave the game one of its higher reviews, which I still stand by. While the combo/counter-based combat is familiar to anyone who’s played a superhero game since Batman: Arkham Asylum, Deadpool nails the comic book’s humor and self-referential tone.

So, if you skipped Deadpool the first time around and are a fan of the character, you’ll soon have a chance at redemption. This remaster is also coming out ahead of the Deadpool movie, which hits theaters on February 12. Re-releasing this game in November can help keep the character fresh in people’s minds until then.

Remasters are a popular way for publishers to release a new title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One without having to spend a  lot of money. So far, last-gen hits like Grand Theft Auto V, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Dishonored, and many more have seen the move from PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
