Baldur’s Gate 1.5? Beamdog talks about its new Infinity Engine game

Classic-style PC role-playing games came back big last year, and it’s a trend that is continuing into 2015.

Developer Beamdog revealed more about its upcoming codenamed game “Adventure Y.” The studio confirmed the release is due out later this year and that it will take place between Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II. Yes, that means it will use the beloved Infinity engine that BioWare and Interplay put to such great use back in the late ’90s and early 2000s. After releasing Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition in 2012, the Enhanced Edition of the sequel in 2013, and Icewind Dale last year, Beamdog is ready to break out with something new.
