Top App Games announced today that it has raised $10 million in funding from investors, which it plans to use for two separate pursuits: Refining and improving its hit mobile game Ludus: Merge Arena and building new titles. According to Top App, this fundraise builds on one it received earlier this year from Vladimir Nikolsky of Utmost Games.

Ludus: Merge Arena, Top App’s mobile strategy RPG, has reached several milestones of success recently, including reaching 3 million downloads and $2 million in monthly revenue. In revenue, says Top App, the game grew its daily active userbase by 50%. Part of the $10 million will go towards refining the Ludus user experience and rolling out fresh content.

The other main use for the fundraise is to develop new titles. According to the developer, it has several games in the works, currently at the prototyping or internal testing phase. It plans to announce more details about one in particular soon — the only information it gave on this new game was that it is “a humorous look at the unpredictable fusion of genres.”

Vladimir Markov, Top App Games CEO, said in a statement, “The funding will be used to improve and promote our hit strategy RPG Ludus which we will continue to develop and grow its revenues. Moreover, I believe, Top App Games is now ready to attract new teams to create hit games.”
