Today at the Xbox Partner Preview showcase, Eclipse Glow Games revealed an epic new look at Tides of Annihilation with its “Break the Mirror” gameplay trailer.
The footage highlights the main character, Gwendolyn, as she enters a ruined church to confront Tyronoe, a powerful shape-shifting witch who appears to be one of the core antagonists in the story. Gwendolyn is voiced by Jennifer English, who is nominated at this year’s Game Awards for her role as Maelle in the acclaimed Game of the Year nominee, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
According to the studio, Gwendolyn’s journey centers on her hunt for the Holy Grail, a quest that sends her through both fractured London and a parallel otherworldly realm as she attempts to rescue her sister and restore humanity. In this newly featured chapter of the journey, Gwendolyn uncovers the tragic past of Sir Lamorak, a Knight of the Roundtable whose suffering is tied directly to the witch Tyronoe’s corruption.
Tides of Annihilation blends modern-day London locales with Arthurian mythology aesthetics, combining for a unique and evocative take on the classic tale.
One of the biggest reveals in the trailer is an expanded look at the game’s Knights System. Previously, Eclipse Glow stated that players can summon and command spectral knights during combat. The new trailer goes a step further, debuting what the studio calls the Dual Frontline Battle System, which is a feature that allows players to control both Gwendolyn and a knight simultaneously.
In the trailer, the player shifts control between Gwendolyn and Lamorak in real time as they coordinate attacks against Tyronoe, breaking through her magical defenses and forcing her into a new phase of the fight.
The system appears designed to add tactical depth and fast, stylish combat flourishes as players juggle positioning, timing, and knight abilities.

Eclipse Glow confirmed that Gwendolyn will be able to recruit multiple knights during her journey, including well-known members of the Roundtable. The full roster is still under wraps, but the team says fans can expect more reveals as the game moves closer to launch.
In many ways, Tides of Annihilation is continuing a modern trend of offering reinterpretations of established lore and settings. Games like Black Myth Wukong and Silent Hill f have found great recent success with precisely that strategy.
Tides of Annihilation is planned for release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, though the studio has not yet announced a launch date.
