Eclipse Glow Games, a new studio from Chengdu, China, first revealed its debut game, Tides of Annihilation at a State of Play event in February. The title, which the studio calls a “fantasy action-adventure game,” with a time-twisting single-player storyline that spans both modern London and a medieval fantasy realm. According to the game’s producer, the studio took on a uniquely British fable in order to deliver on a core gameplay experience: A single-player action game with team combat.

Tides of Annihilation is patterned after Arthurian legend, with the players taking on the role of Gwendolyn, seeking to save her family from both a London ravaged by an unknown apocalypse, and the corrupted realm of Avalon. Gwen is likely based on Queen Guinevere, and she will fight alongside spectral knights, presumably based on the quasi-historical figures the Knights of the Round Table. In addition to the knights of legend, Gwen is also in search of Grail Shards, and also must interact with colossal knights that roam the ruins of London.
