Neon colors, polka dots, and pastels — Nintendo is getting funky in Japan for the launch of the New 3DS.
Nintendo is channeling the look and feel of those Trapper Keeper folders and binders kids had back in the ’90s to give the New 3DS a sense of style. The packaging for the upcoming handheld in Japan features a wild clashing of colors and designs. Nintendo’s graphic designers covered one part of the box with yellow checkers and another with orange stripes. It’s a bold look that appeals directly to the kid in all of us that simply couldn’t show up to third grade unless mom bought us that Designer Series Trapper Keeper to keep our homework in.
