Mario helps Nintendo’s hardware sell better quarter-over-quarter

Mario gave Nintendo’s home console a bit of life last quarter.

The publisher confirmed that it sold 1.19 million Wii U units during the first six months of its fiscal year, which runs through the end of September. The 3DS also racked up 2.28 million units sold. In July, Nintendo noted that it sold 470,000 Wii U systems and 1.01 million 3DSes during its Q1. That means the company sold 720,000 Wii U consoles and 1.27 million 3DSes during its fiscal Q2.
