Joining the Pax Prime 2014 tradeshow parade, Maingear is launching its Maingear Force gamer desktop with Intel’s newest 8-core processor.
The system, which is on display at the Pax Prime show in Seattle, features the new Intel Core i7-5960X Extreme Edition processor, codenamed Haswell-E. It has eight cores, or computing brains, an Intel X99 Express chip set, and support for a new kind of memory chip, DDR4.
Kenilworth, N.J.-based Maingear is one of many gamer PC companies that are launching new systems today. The 8-core system will provide up to a 45 percent performance increase over previous 4 core processor systems. And the memory chips will have 20 percent more bandwidth and consume 20 percent less power. That helps in displaying PC games or reducing video editing time.
The top-of-the-line Maingear Force has a Superstock liquid-cooling system with high-performance radiators. It can support up to four graphics cards from Advanced Micro Devices or Nvidia. And it can fit six hard disks or 12 solid state drives.
