Gillie & Wallo join Global Gaming League as team owners

The Global Gaming League (GGL) announced today that Gillie and Wallo, hosts of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, have joined as the newest team owners. The two will face off against the second-newest team owner, TV host and comedian Howie Mandel, in a matchup of their respective teams in Las Vegas.

Gillie & Wallo’s podcast is not predominantly focused on the gaming world (though they have covered it in the past), with their GGL team ownership being their brand’s first major entry into the esports world. Their match is part of GGL’s SZN ZERO event, with teams that my colleague Dean Takahashi described as “uniting entertainment, entrepreneurship, and competitive gaming like never before.”

The matchup pits the duo’s Million Dollaz team against Mandel’s Howie Do It team on October 29th in a live event. Afterwards, the GGL will stream the match exclusively on its YouTube channel on November 7, with live commentary, guest appearances and a halftime performance by Wheatus.

GGL founder Clinton Sparks said in a statement, “Gillie and Wallo bring the type of passion, competition, smack talking and credibility that defines what GGL is all about. Pairing them against Howie Mandel’s team aligns with what the mission of the GGL is all about – bringing different cultures, industries and worlds together.”
