Gonna Need Milk, the marketing arm of MilkPEP, announced today that it’s bringing The Milk Cup, the largest women’s Fortnite LAN tournament, to TwitchCon’s San Diego event in October. The tournament will feature a $300,000 prize pool, with fifty duos earning spots at the finals on October 18. The finals also air on Gonna Need Milk’s Twitch channel, with watch parties to be announced soon.
According to MilkPEP, the Milk Cup was created in collaboration with female gamers, such as streamer ThePeachCobbler and Women of the eRena, and it’s produced by Raidiant’s all-women production team. Gonna Need Milk describes it thus: “It’s a space designed for women to compete at the highest level, for serious money.”
As part of its partnership with Twitch, Gonna Need Milk is powering the event’s LAN area, offering attendees giveaways and chances to meet leading competitors. Jen Grubb, MilkPEP’s senior marketing manager, said in statement, “This partnership allows us to continue providing never-before-seen opportunities in women’s esports, highlight emerging talent, and connect directly with those shaping the future of competitive gaming, all while showing gamers how milk’s nutrients can help fuel your performance.”
Rachel Delphin, Twitch’s CMO, said in a statement, “TwitchCon is where our community comes to life, and that includes brands who have a unique opportunity to build real, lasting connections with the people who shape culture on Twitch.
