Firaxis’s Rising Tide will take you under the sea in expansion for Civilization: Beyond Earth

Take-Two Interactive’s 2K label is showing off the first gameplay video today for the Rising Tide expansion pack for Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth.

The expansion will give fans more reasons to spend a lot of hours with the turn-based strategy title, which debuted last fall on the Windows PC. This entry from Firaxis Games lets players colonize an alien world and explore new ways for humanity to survive amid hostile environments.

Rising Tide will add more gameplay on a planet’s surface and its seas, dramatically extending the play space. You’ll be able to build floating settlements and access natural resources under the ocean waves. The expansion also has four new factions, including Al Falah, a group of nomad explorers from wealthy Middle-Eastern states.

You can find new kinds of artifacts and use an overhauled diplomacy system that will give you a lot more choices on how to deal with your neighbors. The title is coming this fall.

Here’s the new video below.
