Bethesda recently released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Official World Interactive Map app for the iPhone and iPad. Free-to-download, the app provides an interactive map of the expansive virtual continent of Skyrim, and will undoubtedly come in handy for those of us still exploring every nook and cranny the gargantuan game has to offer. The app offers a number of premium upgrades that will expand its database to include dungeon maps, item locations, and much more.
The problem is, after the most recent update (on February 29), players are reporting that their in-app purchases have been reset, prompting them to pay all over again. From one of the top user reviews:
I paid for the primary and secondary locations and have been using the app almost daily. Now today, the purchases that I made have disappeared and the app wants me to rebuy them.
While that’s obviously concerning, the solution is to simply attempt to buy them again. The app will tell you that you’ve already paid for them, and you’ll be free to download the features, according to Bethesda support.
Even before the update, the World Interactive Map app only had an average user rating of 2.5 stars, which is surprisingly low. Normally I’d make a quip about how even Bethesda’s iPhone apps are buggy, but… I guess I just did.
