Bing Gordon — former Electronic Arts leader and a board member of companies like Amazon, Duolingo, and Take-Two Interactive — has joined Nex’s board.
Nex is the maker of the motion-sensing game console, Nex Playground. It’s a hot seller since it is tiny box and inexpensive at $300. At that price, it’s been selling well and it’s potentially disrupting the market for Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft as the “fourth game console.”
David Lee, CEO of Nex, said in a blog post that he has always looked up to Steve Jobs and Satoru Iwata as role models.
“I often wish they were still around so I could learn from them directly. So when I had the chance to build a personal relationship with Bing Gordon … I couldn’t contain my excitement,” he wrote.
Lee said that Gordon has already given Nex great advice. For instance, Lee noted that Nex has found product market fit for its Playground, which you control by waving your hands around, much like the original Nintendo Wii console. Gordon said, “Finding product market fit is not enough — we must keep improving it.”
Tom Kang, president of Nex, will be a speaker alongside Lisa Cosmas Hanson, president of Niko Partners, at our GamesBeat Summit 2026 conference on May 18-19 in Los Angeles.
“Learning from him is a privilege. It’s one of the most meaningful parts of the journey,” Lee said.
