Electronic Arts announced that Apex Legends will have a Street Fighter 6 crossover event — a bit unusual considering the first-person shooter game and fighting title are very different.
Respawn Entertainment, a division of EA, said the event is about two of gaming’s fiercest competitions meeting in one arena as Street Fighter 6 smashes into the Outlands.
You can throw down in Wildcard with the fighting styles of Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma, and Dhalsim in a Street Fighter 6-themed Olympus. Plus, Street Fighter cosmetics, a Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee, and more.
Val Ayer, senior game product manager at Respawn Entertainment, said in a statement that bringing Street Fighter 6 into the Outlands is a dream collaboration for the team.
“Both Apex Legends and Street Fighter are built around competition, skill, and mastery, making this a natural pairing. Our goal was to create an experience that feels authentic to both franchises—welcoming Street Fighter players into the Outlands while giving Apex players a fresh way to engage with the world they know,” Ayer said.
Ayer said that meant taking recognizable Street Fighter elements, both classic and new, and
reimagining them through an Apex lens. From transforming Olympus into a Street Fighter-inspired stage to turning the iconic Hadoken into a Universal Melee, every element was designed to feel unmistakably Street Fighter while still fitting seamlessly into Apex Legends, Ayer said.
Remixed Olympus

Fight through a Street Fighter 6 remix of Olympus. Smash up Punch Trucks for Fight Gauge
tokens, step into the ring in Luke’s Gym, and check out the arcade cabinets, Blanka-chan
balloons and other decorations throughout the map.
The devs said remixing Olympus for this takeover was all about immersing players in fighting game culture.
“Building off what we learned on maps like Night City E-District, we wanted Olympus to feel like a living Street Fighter stage. For the Street Fighter 6 collaboration especially, we kept thinking of how we could inject that high-energy arcade feel directly into the map,” said Eduardo Agostini, World Director at Respawn, in a statement. “We introduced a POI takeover in Luke’s Gym alongside smashable Punch Trucks that harken to the classic bonus stages of Street Fighter. From there, we added classic arcade cabinets, giant Blanka-chan balloons, bold color, graffiti and massive statues of the fighters themselves. We’re really excited for players to explore every corner of this map and feel the energy that the team poured into it.”
Wildcard Takeover

Unlock your Fighter potential: fill your Fight Gauge by collecting tokens, then unleash your
power in Fighter Form. Fighter Form switches to third-person combat with new Tactical and
Ultimate abilities, enhanced melee, damage reduction, with enhanced movement and block
capabilities.
Survive until the final round to enter Showdown: the final all-out brawl for victory. Any downed or respawning players rejoin the fight immediately, and everyone trades Hadokens, Shoryukens, Yoga Sunbursts, and Kikosho blasts until one squad remains.
The devs said that, at its core, Apex is built on competition.

The devs said Street Fighter genuinely means a lot to the people on the team.
“We took great care helping curate the lineup, wanting to do right by well-loved
characters like Ryu, Chun-Li, and Akuma and align them with Legends that
expressed a similar power fantasy, personality, or silhouette,” said Alisa Rastorgueva, Art Director, in a statement. “We can’t wait for players to step into the Outlands as their favorite Street Fighter characters and experience Apex through a new lens. We’re also excited to launch the Hadouken as our melee, one the most iconic moves in gaming history. Getting that sense of power and spectacle right was a priority for us, and we hope players feel that when it is in their hands.”
