Atari Hotels is bringing the public into its ownership group as it targets a 2028 launch date.
Intersection Development, a real estate firm based in Phoenix, Arizona, plans to build a series of Atari-themed hotels, with the flagship location located in Roosevelt Row, Phoenix’s arts and entertainment district. Today, December 17, the company has announced an equity crowdfunding drive, with plans to raise between $35 and $40 million to build the flagship location using a Regulation A Tier Two equity offering.
“Atari Hotels was born from the idea that hospitality could be as interactive as gaming itself,” said Intersection Development partner Jordan Taylor in a press release. “Our Reg A fundraise and community ownership model reflects that vision, and gives gamers, pop culture fans, Phoenix locals, and investors a rare chance to help shape the first immersive gaming hotel in the Western Hemisphere.”
Atari Hotels has been in the works since 2020, when a group of companies including GSD Group and True North Studio announced the launch of an Atari-themed hotel business, with plans to break ground later that year. After years of delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the concept has officially returned, with Intersection Development being tapped to execute on the plan.
The goal of Atari Hotels is to combine nostalgia for Atari’s classic games with a futuristic, cyberpunk-inspired aesthetic, featuring both high-tech guest rooms and creator studios, as well as bars, restaurants and a 2,000-person esports and concert venue. To achieve this vision, Intersection Development is looking to leverage a Regulation A offering: a way for the company to offer and sell equity ownership to individual contributors without having to register their securities with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Thus far, investors have pumped $14 million into the Phoenix Atari Hotel project. Through the Regulation A offering, individuals can become partial owners of the real estate development project for a minimum investment of $500, with contributors also gaining “preferred returns and access to exclusive experiences,” according to the press release.

Intersection Development plans to begin construction of Atari Hotels in early 2026, with a grand opening scheduled for mid-to-late 2028. Although the project is the exclusive license holder for the Atari brand, Atari Hotels remains fully independent from and unaffiliated with the game company Atari Interactive — so this is not a way to become a partial owner of the broader Atari brand.
Under SEC regulations, Atari Hotels’ Tier Two equity offering means the company is able to raise up to $75 million during the equity crowdfunding round, with non-accredited investors able to participate. In past years, this structure has been used to successfully raise funds by companies including Elio Motors, Myomo and several cryptocurrency or blockchain-based startups. However, Regulation A offerings can be risky, with a relatively high failure rate compared to more traditional IPOs or venture-backed fundraises. Despite these challenges, Intersection Development has a successful track record, having launched 15 hospitality and residential projects in Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row neighborhood.
