Roblox is moving to integrate generative AI features directly into the core gameplay loops of experiences on the platform.
Dream Racers is a new Roblox game launched today, Sept. 1, by the creator studio Studsy. It’s a kart racing game that uses Roblox’s Cube generative AI tool to generate unique vehicles for players in real time, with users submitting a few words into a prompt interface to create zany vehicles like a “Trumpet Mouse Floral Kart” and “Skeleton Parrot Mule Kart.” In an interview with GamesBeat, Studsy founder Kaya-kii “Delus” Ndlovu said the opportunity to integrate Roblox’s 4D AI technology into a new experience had resulted from ongoing collaborations between his studio and Roblox’s Innovation Studio.
“We didn’t actually use the Cube AI to develop it; the whole approach to this was figuring out how we could implement it into the gameplay itself,” Ndlovu said. “Players select three adjectives to describe a kart, and using those three words, the Cube AI built into Roblox actually generates a 3D model kart that the player ends up getting to use within the race.”
To generate the unique attributes of each vehicle in Dream Racers, players select words from a curated “word shop” to build their three-adjective prompts. The impact of the prompts goes beyond pure aesthetics, with a dynamic connection between users’ word choices and their karts’ physics and gameplay stats. Moving forward, Ndlovu said Studsy intends to integrate generative AI features more deeply into the gameplay of its experiences.
“If a player were to generate a fire-themed cart and another player were to have an ice-themed cart, then there would be some sort of clash,” he said.
Roblox first announced its Cube AI 3D creation tools in March 2025, expanding into 4D creation by allowing players to dynamically insert AI-generated objects into game worlds in February 2026. Dream Racers is one of the first Roblox experiences to integrate Roblox’s Cube AI technology directly into gameplay.
“The most powerful feature we can build is one that removes friction between an idea and its realization,” said Morgan Tucker, the head of Roblox’s Innovation Studio, in a written statement emailed to GamesBeat. “That’s what natural language creation can do in the hands of creatives. With 4D generation baked into their game, powered by our Cube Foundation Model, Studsy adds the crucial dimension of interactivity that makes in-game objects behave the way players expect, allowing them to focus on the unexpected moments that define a great game.”
Although Studsy didn’t use Roblox’s Cube AI tools to develop Dream Racers, Ndlovu said he anticipated the tool would get to a point where his studio could use it to create all of its 3D art. He said he intended to continue experimenting with game genres and formats that directly integrate generative AI, including a battleground game that allows players to generate and fight with unique weapons using three-adjective prompts.
“It’s cool to think about all the different ways that other developers will use this on the platform when it becomes available to everyone,” he said.
