Like or Die, formally known as Project Bonfire is one of three NC titles featured during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase, alongside a new trailer for open-world shooter Cinder City and continued promotion of the MMORPG Aion 2 ahead of its September 30, 2027 early access launch.
The game is described as a quirky, social media-themed battle royale and survival shooter where players act as live streamers broadcasting their matches across a cosmic platform called “Quaya Stream.”
Teams cooperate to gather resources, utilize an innovative block-action system to reshape the terrain and build cover, and outlast competing squads.
The reveal comes as NC pushes further into Western markets following a strong start to 2026. The company’s PC game revenue rose 210% year-over-year in the first quarter, reaching roughly $223 million, driven largely by Aion 2’s release in Asia.
NC’s announcement of its Gamescom lineup was made by co-Chief Executive Officers Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo from the company’s Irvine, California offices, a detail some outlets have pointed to as a signal of the publisher’s growing focus on Western audiences.
Like or Die will be released on PC via Steam, but no release date has been confirmed as of yet, and the game hasn’t been confirmed for consoles.
