Activision dropped part two of its deep dive on the DMZ extraction mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Today’s release from studio Infinity Ward talks about the Forward Operating Base that players use inside the extraction arena and more.

The company said DMZ is Call of Duty’s definitive extraction shooter experience, featuring persistent progression and open-world combat environment. You’re free to explore, engage AI
forces and rival Operators, loot valuable items, craft gear, and complete objectives— all while keeping your eye on the final exfil, extracting with your rewards at the end of each deployment.

How you approach each deployment, within a squad or acting alone, is entirely up to you. You can find the full blog here.

Part 1 covered the map, Hajin, with its environments and threats. Part 2 is about the Forward Operating Base (FOB). It’s a tour of the FOB stations, with information on 3D Printer crafting, Bounties, Weapon acquisition, Stashes and Loadouts, Active Duty Operators, DMZ Operator Prestiging, Permanent Prestige Traits, and DMZ Player Progression to Level 70.

The Forward Operating Base (FOB) is your home between DMZ deployments. This navigable encampment allows you to offload your loot, gear up, receive your next Orders, before you head back into Hajin. The FOB is also home to DMZ’s permanent progression, including customizing your Active Duty Operators.

As you conduct further deployments into the Exclusion Zone, the FOB unlocks and upgrades into a fully established base.

Throughout the FOB, there are various stations, and they can be critical to your survival when deployed in the Exclusion Zone. Some stations are unlocked through playing DMZ and can then be upgraded using the 3D Printer station. These stations allow you to track down dangerous Lieutenants, build out your perfect weapon, swap out your Active Duty Operator, craft powerful gear, and more. You can read the rest of the blog here.
