Archetype Entertainment revealed a release date for its upcoming third-person action-adventure game, Exodus. The game launches on April 7, 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The gameplay trailer, shown during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, also reveals more about the game’s story and companions.

The primary companion showcased in the trailer is Salt, an octopus who operates a combat mech and specializes in long-range combat and providing smokescreens. The trailer reveals more about not only her story, but the main conflict of Exodus: The effects of time dilation on characters who move in different celestial spaces than their family and friends.

According to Archetype, time dilation will have an ongoing effect on the player characters, who must make choices that could potentially distance them from their worlds. They’re also in conflict with a race called the Celestials, though the trailer also shows another companion, Emrys, who appears to also be of a Celestial race. Presumably we’ll know more before the game launches next year.
