Xbox has allegedly made several internal changes, including the formation of an internal team dedicated to the preservation and forward compatibility of its games. According to a new report from Windows Central, Xbox president Sarah Bond announced the formation of the team in an email sent to members of the Xbox team. GamesBeat has reached out to Microsoft for comment.

In the email, Bond said, “We have formed a new team dedicated to game preservation, important to all of us at Xbox and the industry itself. We are building on our strong history of delivering backwards compatibility to our players, and we remain committed to bringing forward the amazing library of Xbox games for future generations of players to enjoy.”

Xbox has already shown it considers backwards compatibility to be a priority, as its Bond added that the team was working to incorporate its recently acquired Activision Blizzard games into Game Pass, and that Xbox is the biggest platform for Diablo IV since its launch on the subscription service.

Additionally, longtime Xbox CVP Kareem Choudhry recently left Xbox. Choudhry’s Xbox Emerging Technology team, which handed gaming-based AI innovations, has reportedly integrated with the main Xbox hardware team under Roanne Sones.
