WWE 2K18 scores the secret recipe for KFC’s Colonel Sanders as a playable wrestler

WWE 2K18‘s newest character isn’t a wrestler. Heck, I’m not even sure if he was a real person. Give me a second.

OK, Colonel Sanders was a real person. But he’s not a professional wrestler. Facts aren’t stopping 2K from adding the Kentucky Fried Chicken mascot to its next WWE game, which comes out on October 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (a Switch release is following later this year).

The WWE 2K series is a top-seller every year. This bit of cross-promotion could help KFC reach that audience of wrestling and gaming fans. KFC and WWE have had an advertising partnership for a while now, with wrestlers like Dolph Ziggler dressing up as the Colonel for ads played during WWE shows.

It won’t be quite as bizarre as it sounds. 2K clarified in a press release sent to GamesBeat that you still need to use the create-a-wrestler mode in the game to create Sanders. But it when you see that bright white suit and iconic facial hair, you’ll know what to do.
