Watch us play Lucky’s Tale in virtual reality with the Oculus Rift

Virtual reality is giving players a more immersive connection to video game worlds, and one of the best early examples of this is an Oculus Rift launch title that plays a whole lot like classic games you remember from the Nintendo 64.

Lucky’s Tale is out now for Oculus VR’s head-mounted display, and we are enjoying our time with it. Unlike most early virtual experiences for the Rift or competing devices like HTC’s Vive, Lucky’s Tale is a game where you aren’t looking through a character’s eyes. Instead, you have the kind of view that a kid has when they play with their toys. Surprisingly, this is still immersive. It’s like sitting in the world of Super Mario 64 while controlling Nintendo’s Italian plumber instead of having to look at him through the window of your television.
