Nobody is more plugged into Roblox than the platform’s creator community.

Roblox is constantly updating its user-generated gaming content platform, with the company rolling out eight new patches within the past month. Amid all this change, it can feel daunting for players to keep up — but for creators, staying on top of new tools and services is a necessary function of their work.

“We work every day to make Roblox the place for teams of every size to create great games, avatars, experiences, and more at little to no cost,” said Roblox senior director of engineering Jim Greer in a statement emailed to GamesBeat. “Small teams can rapidly prototype new concepts in any genre, then build, deploy and update multiplayer games on every major platform simultaneously in seconds.”

GamesBeat spoke to five prominent Roblox creators to understand why and how they are leveraging the platform’s newest tools and technologies to improve their bottom lines. Here are some of the key recently implemented or upcoming features creators flagged in those conversations — and the ways they are leveraging them to improve their craft.

“It’s cool to see that there’s an active pursuit in trying to get higher-quality games onto the platform,” said Roblox creator Anne Shoemaker in an interview with GamesBeat. “I’m really curious to see how the platform is going to change over the next five years, and exactly how it’s going to change.”

Regional pricing

It’s been just under a year since Roblox introduced regional pricing in April 2025, giving creators the option to offer region-specific prices for in-game item purchases. Roblox creator Clarence Maximillian used this tool to sell more game passes in his studio’s first-person shooter game “Frontlines.”

“A lot of our users come from North America or Europe, but more recently, we’ve seen a growing number of people in our communities from places like Brazil,” Maximillian said in an interview with GamesBeat. “One part of our revenue strategy is just making a great game. But, two, can we get it accessible to everyone? And that includes pricing, too.”

Experiences that have adopted regional pricing have seen an increase in overall Robux spend between 4 and 10 percent and a roughly 50 percent increase in game pass purchases in discounted regions, as well as an increase in overall players and play time, according to statistics shared by a Roblox representative.

4D generation

Roblox launched a beta of its 4D generation tool on February 4, 2026, allowing games to incorporate player-generated 4D objects like drivable cars into their experiences. In a statement emailed to GamesBeat, Laksh, the creator of the Roblox game “Wish Master,” said that this new tool was already having a massive impact on play time inside his game, with players who engaged in 4D generation demonstrating a 64 percent increase in “Wish Master” play time thus far.

“I initially used 3D generation, but once I received early access to 4D, I switched over and the results have been remarkable,” the creator said. “The player reactions have been amazing. Since they have the freedom to build, they experiment with all sorts of things and genuinely enjoy the experience.”

True transparency of avatar items

For years, Roblox creators have bemoaned their inability to make truly transparent skins and items, with creators relying on a variety of technical workarounds to achieve semi-transparent items instead. In an interview with GamesBeat, Roblox creator Kyasia Watson flagged that truly transparent textures will be coming to Roblox in the near future, a function she said would make designing avatar items much simpler.

“That is something that I’m definitely going to be using a lot, because that just opens up a lot of doors,” Watson said. “Especially if you want to make really realistic hair, or if you’re making a clothing item that has some sheen to it or transparency, you don’t have to do a bunch of texture tricks to achieve that look.”

Avatar makeup

Roblox launched a beta test for avatar makeup in October 2025. At some point in 2026, the company plans to roll this out as a full function, enabling creators to publish experiences and sell makeup as an avatar item inside Roblox’s in-game marketplace. The implementation of avatar makeup is exciting news for both individual creators and creators who work with or for Roblox studios, with Roblox creator and Sawhorse Productions lead art director Jessica Weiss Thomas calling it out as a key area of interest in 2026.

“That’s going to be awesome, to be able to customize avatars and stuff,” Thomas said. “So, keep them coming — because it helps us build even better.”
