The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time hits Wii U’s Virtual Console today

One of Nintendo’s most popular games in its storied, decades-long history is on a new platform.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is available today on the Wii U via the system’s Virtual Console store. This is the original Nintendo 64 version which came out in 1998. You can buy it for $10.

Ocarina of Time was the series’ first adventure in 3D, and it’s one of the most acclaimed games of all time. It features a young Link traveling through dungeons, time, and an open field via horse in a quest to stop baddie Ganondorf from conquering the fictional world of Hyrule.

Ocarina of Time had a remastering on the portable 3DS in 2011. This version updated the graphics and added 3D support. The Wii U version on Virtual Console, however, is a straight port of the original.
