Sony started out State of Play with an extended look at Wolverine, the latest Marvel game coming from Insomniac Games. Wolverine of course is a huge title coming this year and it shows that Logan won’t be alone, as other mutants will be part of the game’s narrative.

It’s a strong start for Sony, which is in need of some good hits to maintain its lead in the console business. Overall, I’m very impressed with the mix of third-party and first-party games coming, from Wolverine at the start to God of War at the end.

The second title was Marvel Tokon: Fight Souls, a new fighting game coming from Arc System Works. It launches on PlayStation on August 6., 2026. It features The Champion, who has destroyed entire planets, going up against the Knights of Doom, led by Doctor Doom.

Then it switched over to game and a Rayman title, Rayman: Legends Retold, coming October 1, 2026, to PlayStation 5.

Bancho: The Chef is a new spinoff coming from the delightful Dave the Diver underwater diving and sushi chef game. Bancho is taking his sushi restaurant to the city. You can wishlist it now.

Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen, is coming in 2027. Ikumi Nakamura introduced the title.

meanwhile, Dune Awakening is coming to the consoles on September 22, with a new single-play option for exploring Frank Herbert’s classic planet where you can explore the spice-rich deserts on your own.

No Rest for the Wicked is coming from Moon Studios, the creator of Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. This is a new 1.0 release coming to PS5 in October 2026.

Then we have Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered.

Capcom showed off Onimusha: Way of the Sword, which debuts on the PS5 on September 25, 2026. We get a first look of the Mount Oe level, and its boss, Shuten Doji. You’ll play as legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi during the Edo period in Kyoto.

Next we have Silent Hill: Townfall, also from Capcom. It’s releasing on September 24, 2026, a day before Onimusha. That’s not ideal, but these games have to get out before Grand Theft Auto VI.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is coming out in September or October, 2026, also trying to beat the Grand Theft Auto VI rush.

Saber Interactive also unveiled a new title called Hollywood Stuntman. You get to be a stunt driver on movie sets, and you’ll get to drive cars like the one from Knight Rider and another from Back to the Future.

Ill, a violent game where you have to melee your way through zombie-like creatures in a dank underground, also got a new and very bloody trailer. It’s coming in 2027.

Control Resonant is also coming out on September 24, 2026, on the PS 5. Manhattan will never look the same.

Until Dawn 2 is coming in 2027 to the PlayStation 5 from Firesprite. Now it’s a bunch of ghost-hunting teens that you’ll have to grudgingly save.

And the game is closing with a long gameplay trailer for a new God of War game, this time based on Faye’s story. Yes, she’s the wife of Kratos, who appeared only as a dead body in the previous God of War series.
