The Legend of Zelda, Space Invaders, and Sonic highlight World Video Game Hall of Fame’s 2016 inductees

The new inductees for the World Video Game Hall of Fame are out, and they include the classic games Grand Theft Auto III, The Legend of Zelda, The Oregon Trail, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Space Invaders.

These games span multiple decades, countries of origin, and gaming platforms, but all have significantly affected the video game industry, popular culture, and society in general. Those are the criteria for selecting the games. I was honored to be among the World Video Game Hall of Fame International Selection Advisory Committee Members.
