Sequence, the Arbitrum Foundation, and TapNation have joined forces to bring scalable web3 mobile games to the masses.
TapNation, a leading mobile game publisher with over one billion downloads globally, will collaborate with Sequence, the all-in-one web3 development platform, and The Arbitrum Foundation to leverage Arbitrum, the premier Layer 2 scaling solution.
This collaboration aims to redefine mobile gaming by integrating frictionless and rewarding blockchain-powered features into top-performing mobile titles.
This collaboration will debut with two of TapNation’s most popular games: Monster Squad Rush and Cornhole League. Both games now incorporate blockchain elements such as digital asset ownership, in-game NFT rewards, and player-driven economies while maintaining the seamless, intuitive gameplay standards that TapNation is known for.
“This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to show players and developers how rewarding and powerful light-touch web3 integrations in existing games can be,” said Sam Barberie, head of strategy and partnerships at Sequence, in a statement. “TapNation’s massive reach, with 1B+ app downloads to date, combined with Sequence’s developer-friendly platform and Arbitrum’s security and performance, offers a clear blueprint for web3 adoption in mobile gaming.”
Web3 goes mobile: TapNation’s Monster Squad Rush and Cornhole lead the charge
TapNation leverages Sequence’s full-stack web3 development platform, including embedded wallets, smart contract tools, and metadata infrastructure.
Players unlock Web3 features in Monster Squad Rush upon reaching Level 5, enabling access to “Reward Mode” through familiar social login methods (via Sequence’s wallet solutions) such as Gmail, Apple, Facebook, Epic, or Twitch, no browser extensions or complex seed phrases required.
With blockchain functionality powered by Arbitrum’s fast and low-cost L2 network, players can easily mint, own, and trade digital assets, participate in game governance, and engage with onchain economies, all while enjoying a frictionless mobile experience.
Cornhole League, a competitive casual game from TapNation’s catalog, now also benefits from this same blockchain architecture, offering players an enriched gameplay loop through digital ownership and interoperable rewards.
“Collaborating with Sequence and The Arbitrum Foundation enables us to introduce innovative features without compromising what makes our games fun and accessible,” said Philippe Lenormand, head of web3 at TapNation, in a statement. “Monster Squad Rush and Cornhole League are the first steps in a broader strategy to bring web3 to our global audience.”
Mobile games built to scale with Google Cloud
As official Google Cloud partners, both TapNation and Sequence operate on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. This ensures that the integrated web3 features are built for global scale, secure by design, and optimized for high-volume player traffic, further strengthening the foundation for widespread adoption.
With increasing pressure on game studios to improve acquisition, retention, and monetization, blockchain offers powerful solutions. By providing the opportunity for true asset ownership, player-governed economies, and new monetization models, Web3 technology can transform mobile games into vibrant ecosystems that reward players for their time and engagement.
“Gaming is one of the most dynamic and promising frontiers for blockchain use cases,” said Andrew Charalambous, community manager (Japan) at The Arbitrum Foundation, in a statement. “By combining Arbitrum’s high-performance infrastructure with Sequence’s developer-friendly tools and TapNation’s proven reach, we’re building the foundation for web3 games that are scalable, intuitive, and genuinely fun. This collaboration marks a pivotal step toward bringing blockchain gaming to the mainstream.”
With more titles in the pipeline, the collaboration between Sequence, The Arbitrum Foundation, and TapNation signals a long-term commitment to making web3 gaming frictionless, rewarding, and ready for the mainstream.
