Platinum Games today revealed its newest game, Ninja Gaiden 4, the latest game in the legendary action series. It’s making the game in partnership with the series’ longtime developer, Team Ninja. They plan to release it in fall 2025 on Xbox, PC, Game Pass, and PlayStation 5. Team Ninja also announced the launch of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a remake of the second game in the series, and it is currently available on Xbox Game Pass.
Ninja Gaiden 4 stars new protagonist Yakumo, a young ninja who’s battling his way through a futuristic, cyberpunk-flavored Tokyo that’s being overshadowed by the cult of the Dark Dragon. He’ll eventually come into conflict with the series’ longtime main character, Ryu Hayabusa, who’s also a playable character. According to Team Ninja, its collaboration with Platinum Games has created gameplay that is fast-paced but still honors the series’ distinctive challenge.
