Capcom is asking fans to assist in the development of Mega Man Legends 3. Masakazu Eguchi, director of the game, said he wants fans to contribute and vote on ideas in Capcom Unity's Developer Room. The first order of business is to decide on MML3's new heroine from nine designs. This sounds like a "choose your own adventure" without the ability to peak ahead and change your mind, so choose wisely!
Sega is pulling "average" Sonic games from store shelves to "increase the value of the brand." Jurgen Post, senior vice president EMEA at Sega, said the company is removing any Sonic title with an "average" Metacritic score from stores to improve the image of the franchise. "This will be very important when more big Sonic releases arrive in the future," Post said. Would anyone else like to publicly validate the way Metacritic demeans reviewers and their work? [MCV]
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said the company should focus on quality rather than piracy when analyzing a game's sales. "It is true there is always the influence of piracy, but it is important for us to increase the number of our consumers who are willing to shell out their money to purchase our products," Iwata said. He added that it is a responsibility of Nintendo as the platform holder to combat piracy for its devices. "When we launch new hardware, such as Nintendo 3DS, it is a good opportunity to beef up the countermeasures, and we are actually working on that now," he said. David O. Russell, director of Three Kings and I Heart Huckabees, has agreed to write and direct the film adaptation of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Russell first considered the project in May but left it to work on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Columbia Pictures President Matt Tolmach said Russell "has a brilliant vision for this material and we know he will bring his original, unique voice to this adaptation."
