News Blips: Halo Cheaters Punished, Warcraft Expansion Dated, Scott Pilgrim DLC, and More

Halo: ReachDon't waste Bungie's time with your lies, Halo cheaters. They know your tricks, and they're not happy.

News Blips:

Bungie resets the credits of 15,000 Halo: Reach players for taking advantage of in-game exploits. Bungie representative Ferrex said the comapny specifically targeted an exploit that allows players to complete an individual challenge over 20 times through intentional network manipulation such as disconnects. "Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence," Ferrex said. "We aren't." This just proves once again that Halo is serious business.

Activision-Blizzard announces the next World of Warcraft expansion, Cataclysm, will launch December 7. According to a press release, the expansion will raise the level cap to 85, introduce two new playable races (worgen and goblins), and redesign the way newer players level-up. I hope all those WoW fans spend time with their families on Thanksgiving because you know they won't leave their rooms come Christmas.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World downloadable content includes Knives Chau as a playable character and new game modes. In addition to playing Chau, the DLC also includes Battle Royal and Dodgeball. In the former, players must fight to stay on a platform, while in the latter, players can only damage one another when attacking with a large beach ball. Yoshinori Ono, producer of the Street Fighter series, says one million Darkstalkers fans need to speak up for the game to receive a sequel. While discussing Street Fighter X Tekken with Eurogamer, Ono mentioned it would take one million fans to convince Head of Research and Development at Capcom Keiji Inafune to approve a new Darkstalkers game. Ono said developing the title would be his "ultimate dream" and that he's received about 5,000 requests so far. More companies should make this sort of information public. I'm sure the EarthBound community is dying to know how many requests Nintendo wants before releasing Mother 3.
