News Blips: Child of Eden Developer Wants Your Happy Moments, Sega Dates Sonic 4, and More

Child of EdenChild of Eden's developer wants to include players' favorite memories in the game. I shudder to think of what the more disturbing nerd culture niches will submit. Freakin' furries…

News Blips:

Ubisoft and Q Entertainment are asking fans to submit photos of their favorite memories to be included in the upcoming rhythm game Child of Eden. According to Ubisoft's website, the company wants depictions of "smiling faces, beautiful nature, landscapes, and any other positive images of Earth" to complete Child of Eden's final level. I wonder how many people will submit photos of their reactions to hearing Duke Nukem Forever is actually coming out.

Sega announces the various release dates for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, the series' return to its original style of gameplay. The download launches first on the iTunes App Store October 7, then the Wii Shop Channel October 11, PlayStation Network October 12, and finally Xbox Live Arcade October 13. The latter three will sell for around $15, but Sega hasn't announced a price for the iTunes version. Looks like they're counting on those "Hey, this is pretty good…for an iPhone game" sales. [IGN]

EA Sports announces it will release NBA Jam for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as a standalone product to make up for delaying NBA Elite 11. The developer originally intended to bundle the two games together but decided to release them separately so players could have a new game in time for the start of the 2010-11 NBA season. EA Sports will continue to offer free NBA Live 10 updates for the upcoming season as well. I guess supporting three NBA games at once is the next best thing to having the exclusive rights to the league. [In The Game]

Just Add Water, the developer updating Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, claims the game is currently too big to release on Xbox Live Arcade. Before updates, Stranger's Wrath is 2.1 gigabytes of data, but XBLA can only support up to two gigs per title. Just Add Water says it would need a miracle to fit the game with its updated visuals and content onto the platform. As long as we're hoping for miracles, why not try for a WiiWare release as well?
