Metro: Awakening VR launches on PS VR2 sometime in 2024

One of the VR game reveals that appeared during today’s State of Play event is Metro: Awakening VR. This new title in the Metro world is developed by Vertigo Games, the creators of Arizona Sunshine and The 7th Guest VR. It’s also created in collaboration with Deep Silver and is inspired by Dmitry Glukhovsky’s original novels. It launches on PlayStation VR2 sometime in 2024.

According to Vertigo, and as its title might imply, its set in 2028, before the events of Metro 2033. Instead of series stalwart Artyom, the player character is Serdar, who’s looking for his wife in the metro tunnels. It features the usual Metro staples, including deteriorating air filters, limited bullets and dim lighting via headlamp.
