Super Mario Bros. 3 was all just a play — Shiggy confirms and busts the series’ myths

The secretive Nintendo is having a little fun.

One day before Super Mario Maker (which, by the way, we gave our first 100/100 review score) comes out for the Wii U, the Japanese gaming company has posted a video that has the series’ creator, Shigeru Miyamoto (affectionately called Shiggy by fans), confirming and denying some of the franchises’ long-standing myths. You can watch the video below.

Well, we already knew that Super Mario Bros. 2 was a dream, and now Shiggy has confirmed that Super Mario Bros. 3 was just a play. How many of Mario’s adventures were actually real?

Oh, and Shiggy is Bowser Jr.’s mom. Good to know.
