Inkulinati, the debut title of Polish indie developer Yaza Games and publisher Daedalic Entertainment, is set to launch February 22, 2024.
Inspired by Medieval manuscripts, Inkulinati lets players bring doddles from the margins to life using “living ink.” Be sure to command your army wisely in this turn-based strategy game. There’s plenty of strategic depth with over 50 beasts, their passive skills and your player hand actions to consider.
Inkulinati features both single player and multiplayer modes. Players will overcome puzzle-like challenges in the single player campaign, called Journey Mode. Once players get comfortable commanding their doodle army, they can duke it out in Duel Mode. The head-to-head mode supports couch co-op, Steam remote play or AI opponents. Players can also recreate scenarios in Duel mode to practice.
While Inkulinati did prioritize historically accuracy (consulting with a medievalist), the game is decidedly lighthearted in tone. Yaza Games said the title’s humor takes notes from Monthy Python and faithfully recreates the 700-plus year old fart jokes from these manuscripts.
Inkulinati won the Best Indie Game and Most Original Game awards at Gamescom 2022. Last year, the title started in Early Access and Xbox Game Preview program. After incorporating this feedback, the full launches in two weeks on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
