Hulu plans to make a Hitman television series with ‘John Wick’ creator

Hulu wants to hire Agent 47 for a hit … TV series. Developer IO Interactive has made a dead with production company Fox 21 and the Hulu streaming series to create a show based on the Hitman video game series, as Deadline first reportedJohn Wick creator Derek Kolstad is writing the pilot script, and it’s still in early preproduction. Hulu has not announced a release date or who will play the bald assassin.

Hitman is a long-running video game franchise. It has players taking on the role of Agent 47 as he figures out ways to use the environment and an assortment of tools and weapons to eliminate his targets. The series debuted in 2000 with Hitman: Codename 47, and IO Interactive most recently launched Hitman (2016) last year. Earlier this year, publisher Square Enix separated from IO and worked out a deal to let the developer retain the rights to the series. That led up to this current deal with Hulu.
