Like any proper science fiction fan, Jamil Moledina perked up when Neal Stephenson came calling about a job to help build the open metaverse.

Stephenson, author of Snow Crash, teamed up with crypto entrepreneur Peter Vessenes to create Lamina1, a blockchain technology startup dedicated to the open metaverse.
