Berlin-based data platform GRID has acquired the intellectual property assets of Bayes Esports following the company’s liquidation proceedings.

The deal folds nearly a decade of Bayes’ technology into GRID’s infrastructure, with a major focus on GRID Bet, its regulated esports betting solution.

This acquisition gives access to strategic components developed by Bayes, including live data trading solutions, prediction models, and fan engagement tools. These technologies will now be powered exclusively by official esports data on the GRID Data Platform, which serves as the backbone for its products. By centralizing these assets, GRID says it can accelerate product development while offering new value to rights holders, operators, and fans alike.

“The acquisition of Bayes assets further accelerates GRID’s capabilities to create value for rights holders in esports and shape the next phase of esports betting in particular,” said Moritz Maurer, founder and CEO of GRID.

This acquisition isn’t GRID’s first move toward consolidating power over official in-game data. GRID has been positioning itself to become the trusted source for real-time esports data, partnering with developers like Ninja Kiwi to bring in-game data and community tools to players and tournament organizers.

Founded in 2018, GRID has positioned itself as a core technology provider in the esports ecosystem. The company partners with publishers and tournament organizers such as Riot Games, Ubisoft, BLAST, and ESL FACEIT Group to transform in-game moments into structured data. That data is then distributed to regulated betting operators, broadcasters, and other third-party platforms.

The collapse of Bayes Esports earlier this year left a gap in the esports data landscape. Bayes had been one of the few companies offering official live data products, and its exit raised questions about the sustainability of specialized esports data providers. GRID’s acquisition of Bayes’ technology suggests consolidation may be the path forward in what remains a challenging market.

Esports betting is widely seen as a growth driver for the industry, with regulated markets opening in more territories and audiences looking for deeper engagement options.
