Esports tournament platform Gamerji expands to Southeast Asia

After securing market share in India and MENA, Esports tournament platform Gamerji is expanding its operations into Southeast Asia. Now, Filipino and Indonesian players can compete in tournaments for PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Valorant, Clash Royale, CS:GO, Rocket League, and FIFA/EA FC.

The Ahmedabad, India-based platform launched in 2019. Today, Gamerji’s user base totals 10.8 million players in India and MENA and offers over 500 tournaments daily across 22 titles. The company aims to grow to 20 million users over the next year, with at least 1 million in Southeast Asia.

This global expansion continues Gamerji’s strategy to secure users in developing esports markets. Technological advances and improved access and infrastructure are fueling growth in India, MENA and Southeast Asia. Specifically, Gamerji cites Statista Reaserch claiming the SEA esports market will grow 8.2% each year on average from 2024 to 2032.

Gamerji has raised $4.7 million in funding total. Most recently, the company closed a $3 million Pre Series A round in late 2022 to fuel its MENA expansion. Its investors include Stadia Ventures, GVFL and Unicorn India Ventures.
