Feeble Minds, the new studio from veteran developers who worked on Satisfactory and Goat Simulator, revealed itself this week. It also announced details on its debut game, called Serpent’s Gaze, as well as the game’s demo, which is available now on Steam. The studio itself launched in 2022, with a small team of 10 developers.
Serpent’s Gaze is a third-person action game with soulslike and roguelike elements. It has 1-4 player co-op options, with handcrafted levels and a Curse system that puts variables in your path. The player characters are sciens, warriors given the power to vanquish gods and tyrants by a tree god.
The studio was founded by Oscar Jilsén, co-founder of Coffee Stain Studios; and Jannik Reuterberg, founder of Insert Coin. Other members of the team include fellow Coffee Stain co-founder Mikael Mård; Johan Gustafsson, formerly of Paradox; and Sofie Irenheim, formerly of PocApp Studios.
Feeble Minds CEO Jannik Reuterberg said in a statement, “At Feeble Minds, we have a mix of experienced people who worked on some big titles at places like Coffee Stain and Paradox, alongside fresh new talent. In that image, we are working hard to create a rich world that combines the best elements of games we love with new ideas to create something new and amazing. We can’t wait to hear your feedback on the demo and share more as we continue to work on the game!”
