Fateless Games is looking to challenge the gacha-gaming dominance of Raid: Shadow Legends — and the studio has enlisted one of the popular mobile game’s former makers to help pull it off.
Founded by prominent Raid: Shadow Legends content creators Simon “HellHades” Lockerby, Dan “Phixion” Francis, and Hisham “Sham” Saleh in 2023, Fateless Games aims to offer a more player-friendly, community-driven alternative to the popular gacha title with its upcoming title Godforge.
Today, June 23, Fateless has announced its latest executive hire, appointing the veteran game maker Noam Sagie as its new chief marketing officer. Sagie was a key member of the team behind Raid: Shadow Legends; as a marketing executive at Plarium between 2014 and 2022, he helped launch Raid globally, driving Raid to become the top mobile role-playing title after its first 12 months.
“The game looks amazing — this is the first priority from my side to decide if I’m joining a certain studio, so the game is just beautiful,” Sagie said in an interview with GamesBeat. “Also, I’ve never seen a community-driven game development studio that is founded by creators who truly understand the players, and they are dedicated to creating a deeply immersive experience for their audience. I was super impressed by this approach.”

After leaving Plarium in 2022, Sagie spent stints at Candivore and Goat Entertainment Studios, where he served as chief marketing officer between 2022 and 2026. He told GamesBeat that he plans to apply his years of experience across Plarium and other studios to help steer Godforge toward a successful launch using a performance marketing approach that leans heavily into Fateless Games’ creator-native background.
“This is something that I was very focused on when I became the CMO — to bring the marketing team and the product team together with the community, and to think together and brainstorm how we can utilize each other to bring better performance,” Sagie said.
So far, the gacha gaming community appears to be welcoming Godforge with open arms. Last year, Fateless ran an alpha test for Godforge, with 35,000 of 40,000 invited players participating in the alpha. In May 2026, the studio operated a beta test, with 75,000 of 100,000 invited players electing to participate. Fateless also released a Godforge mini game in December 2025 intended to reward early players with items that would carry forward into the main game, although these items did not feature during the beta test.
Fateless Games has not yet announced an official release date for Godforge, but the company plans to open the game up for early access by the end of 2026.
“We got to the point where it’s like, ‘Okay, the game’s getting traction; we’re in a good spot, we’ve got an excited and engaged community, but none of us have taken a game to market in this space. How do we do it?’” Francis said in an interview with GamesBeat. “And that’s where Noam comes in, because we thought, ‘well, if there’s anybody who knows how to come in and compete against the top in the space, it’s going to be the man that really made it all possible with Raid: Shadow Legends.”
