Eve Online lead designer leaving CCP Games to join League of Legends developer

League of Legends developer Riot Games just picked up some talent for its Dublin branch.

Eve Online lead designer Kristoffer Touborg announced he is leaving CCP Games to join Riot. Touborg revealed he is working on Riot’s free-to-play multiplayer online battle-arena League of Legends, as first reported by Gameindustry International.

Touborg began working at CCP five years ago.

“It’s been an incredible five years, working for a company I love on a game I love,” Touborg wrote in a Facebook message. “You can’t do the same thing forever though, and I feel like after more than five years, it’s time to try something new. So I’m packing my bags again and moving to Dublin.”

Riot, which has its headquarters in Los Angeles, opened offices in Dublin in 2010.

“I feel a bit lucky that I get to work on not just one of my favorite games, but two of them,” wrote Touborg. “I don’t think I could have asked for anything more and it’s pretty humbling to go from one love to another. A few years ago, my overwhelming interest was the EVE universe; now it’s League of Legends and the competitive scene there.”
