Elden Ring live-action movie debuts in March 2028

Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24 announced the live-action adaptation of the fantasy game Elden Ring, written and directed by Alex Garland, will debut on March 3, 2028.

The film will be created for IMAX and production begins in the spring of 2026.

The film is the latest video game adaptation into movies. Currently in theaters, Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie has generated $747 million at the global box office since its release on April 1. And Activision recently announced that the Call of Duty movie will debut on June 30, 2028.

Created under the guidance of FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki, and based on a mythological story written by George R. R. Martin, this action RPG debuted in 2022. It’s a tough Souls-like game that allows players to explore vast environments and dungeons to discover the unknown and enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes from overcoming obstacles and challenges.

The dark fantasy action RPG has surpassed 30 million copies sold worldwide.
