Pearl Abyss announced today that its RPG, Crimson Desert, has sold six million units within the first three months of its release. The developer notes that it has reached this milestone ahead of launching the game’s planned content updates, which will release over the next quarter.

Crimson Desert first hit the two million-unit mark on the first day after its launch, and the five million-unit mark within a month. According to the April report from industry-tracking firm Circana, Crimson Desert is the second-best selling game in the U.S. of 2026 so far. Pearl Abyss noted that this is “an unprecedented sales milestone for a Korean-developed single-player game.”

Jin-young Heo, Pearl Abyss CEO, said in a statement, “We are sincerely grateful to players around the world for helping Crimson Desert achieve meaningful success in the global market despite being a new IP. To provide more enjoyable and better experiences, Pearl Abyss will continue moving forward and taking on new challenges.”

Pearl Abyss announced last week that it’s working on DLC, new content and features that will roll out from June through September. These include combat-focused content, improving story scenes to make them more engaging and a cross-save feature, among other additions. The developer also said that, while it can’t share details on the planned DLC yet, it will be “a meaningful addition to the player’s journey.”
