Big Fish Games said today that it is laying off 49 employees in Seattle and is shutting its office in Vancouver and moving those projects to Seattle.
Paul Thelen, the chief executive of Big Fish, said in a memo to the staff that the cost-cutting move is aimed at exiting business areas that are not growing or profitable. That includes closing the company’s cloud delivery business, which is not growing as fast as Big Fish had hoped and is not on a path to profitability.
