Amazon embraces cloud gaming (and other 3D graphics applications)

With its widespread data center infrastructure, the game industry wonders if Amazon can make cloud gaming work.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing arm of the e-commerce giant, today announced a new instance type (G2) designed for applications that require 3D graphics capabilities. (Think of cloud “instances” as virtual servers that can run applications.)
