I'm torn between saving my sanity or plunging into the potential controller-destroying challenges of Dark Souls. Good thing I had the foresight to stock up on extra controllers.

• This expository glimpse into the world of Dark Souls shows off gloomy forests, demonic creatures, and an obligatory crone narrator who sounds like she's trapped in an airplane hangar. Vague soliloquy aside, this game gives me another opportunity to chop up zombies and skeletons with impunity, and that's good enough for me.

• Crimson Alliance's enigmatic Direwolf rocks devastating spells, mobility, and the manliest beard this side of Hogwarts. I bet he puts on his robe and wizard hat using the severed arms of his vanquished enemies as wands.

• Reunite with Metal Sonic and Amy Rose in the jazzed up re-release of Sonic CD. A double whammy for retro gamers and Sonic fans alike, but make sure to keep your glee in check.
