I've expressed my thoughts about cinematic trailers in the past, but that doesn't prevent my jaw from dropping in amazement every time a glossy explosion-fest graces my monitor.
Video Blips:
• Choose your allegiance to the stalwart Republic or the domineering Sith Empire in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Just remember that no matter your decision, cutting down Jawas in Tatooine will always stay the same.
Continue after the break for the two factions warring over the majestic city of Columbia in BioShock Infinite, a deadly combination of withering firepower and mind-crushing psychic force in F.E.A.R. 3, and a naval commander's reminiscences in Oil Rush.
• BioShock Infinite designer Ken Levine introduces the nationalistic Founders and anarchistic Vox Populi factions. Their differences are many, but at least one unifying factor is a severe dislike for members of the Pinkerton Detective Agency.
• Brothers Point Man and Paxton Fettel continue their mother's penchant for paranormal slaughter in F.E.A.R. 3. I see a potential comedy show in all of this, but it might be too slapstick for audiences.
• With steepled fingers and an oily hourglass, the commander of a huge naval armada rallies his troops in Oil Rush. The planet's lands are submerged underwater, but as long as Kevin Costner with gills doesn't show up, I'll be fine.
