Video game publisher and developer Cygames has formed a partnership with Breeders’ Cup Limited again this year to sponsor the Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint at the Breeders’ Cup World Championships for the third year running.
The Breeders’ Cup is a horse racing sporting event that brings together many of the world’s finest horses, owners, trainers and jockeys. Spanning two days and featuring fourteen G1 races, the event offers more than $34 million in purses and awards. The 2026 Breeders’ Cup will be held October 30 to October 31 in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Cygames Breeders’ Cup Sprint, scheduled for October 31, is a 1,200-meter (six-furlong) race held on a dirt track for thoroughbred horses three years old and up, and boasts a purse worth $2 million. The race will feature the Cygames logo emblazoned on the starting gate and the saddle towels of the contending horses.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby Life-Size Figure Display
During the Breeders’ Cup, a life-size figure depicting a character from the game Umamusume: Pretty Derby based on last year’s Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Forever Young will be placed on display. The race will take place at the Keeneland Racetrack in Kentucky in the U.S.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a sports life simulation game where players take the role of a rookie trainer at Tracen Academy, an educational institution for Umamusume. Working in tandem with their Umamusume trainee through daily training and communication, players aim to win races and make both their dreams come true.
In addition to its engaging gameplay, Umamusume also features rich, dramatic storytelling. Another highlight is the game’s immersive presentation—players are drawn in by spectacular races as well as “winning concerts,” where the Umamusume perform a wide variety of songs in a live concert setting. The game also won the Award for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2025.
